• Queer spaces: TRANS GUYS ARE GREAT
  • Cis society: trans guys seem ok for trans people, I guess we could get along
  • Feminism: Trans guys are pretty swell
  • Hardcore bigots: We'll be concentrating all our ire on trans girls and ignoring trans guys
  • Lesbian spaces: Trans guys invited! Ew trans girls go away
  • Women only spaces: Trans guys invited! Oh god not these trans girls again
  • Trans spaces: TRANS GUYS RAH RAH RAH *waves pom poms*
  • Random trans girl: Hey so I think trans girls are pretty cool
  • Bunch of people: Hey that's great but what do you think about trans guys

I love playing Brienne of Tarth because, when I was growing up, I didn’t really see people on television that I felt that I could identify with. Women all looked kind of a particular way, women characters that were popular, anyway. And when I had the opportunity to play this part, it made me explore the parts of myself I had hidden from. I had very long hair. I wanted to look very feminine, really tall. (x)

white girls who want my culture’s bindis and saris and henna

take my skin colour too

and my dark brown lips

take my self-hatred because i don’t fit into the euro-centric ideals of beauty

take the oppression too

take the history of colonization that has devastated my country

and the drones that currently devastate my country

take all the bad stuff too

not just the pretty, shiny, sparky bits

take the ugly, dehumanizing and shitty parts too
